A photo of a tawny owl, another of a strawberry tree, another of a hedgehog…
Photo by photo, the LIFE LINES project has filled its Facebook page between the 22nd and 23rd of April.
To mark the 50th anniversary of the Earth Day (April 22, 2020), PROJECT LIFE LINES launched a challenge to its followers to guess the name of the species of fauna and flora present in the published photographs. The winners of the challenge were the first three participants who got the most answers right.
When we revealed the names of the species, we also included a little curiosity about them. In this way, everyone who visited the page those days, could get to know a little more about some of the species of fauna and flora that have been the target of the implementation of measures by the LIFE LINES project or that occur in its area of intervention.
This was the way to mark the day virtually, since we are confined at home, for the entire situation caused by the new coronavirus. And if there was one thing that this situation showed us, was the power of globalization (not in the best way, it is true). Therefore, let us be aware that our actions (however small they may be) can influence everything and everyone, and how important it is to preserve biodiversity. Each species plays a very important role in the functioning of ecosystems and all these processes are essential to maintain the balance of the planet!
