On May 21th, the European Day of the Natura 2000 Network was celebrated and LIFE LINES could not pass up this. We prepared several promotional materials referring to the project and the Natura 2000 Network.
Last week we launched a drawing competition for children (between 6 and 14 years old) that will be open until the 26th of June (Regulation here) and a presentation on the project, especially created for children, in order to facilitate its dissemination to children who do not know it yet and support the contest (you can view the presentation here).
Other materials were also prepared, such as a brochure referring to the Natura 2000 Network and the LIFE LINES Project, a quiz about the project for the old, and games for children (and not only!). All materials can be downloaded here.
The Natura 2000 day was celebrated for the first time in 1992, on the day the Habitats Directive and the LIFE program in the European Union was approved.
Currently, the Natura 2000 Network integrates more than 27 8000 sites (terrestrial and marine) contributing to the preservation of the European natural heritage, and the study area of the LIFE LINES project includes 8 Natura 2000 sites: Monfurado (PTCON0031), Cabrela ( PTCON0033), Cabecion (PTCON0029), Alvito / Cuba (PTCON0035), Évora (PTZPE055), Veiros (PTZPE0052), Monforte (PTZPE0051), Vila Fernando (PTZPE0053).
