At the end of September, the owl barriers were installed on Municipal Road 529 (known also as Valeira road). This task carried out by the Municipality of Évora, partner of the project, is part of action C7 – Mitigation and enhancement measures in the Évora municipality. Similar to those previously installed on National Road 114, these barriers have been placed at a black spot of owl mortality and will help reduce it by promoting the elevation of owls flight above these structures and above road level, and thus avoiding collision with vehicles.
