The IP promoted, on December 1st, another Volunteering for Nature action, under the LIFE LINES Project, on December 1st.
This is the 8th session of the company and, together with the previous ones, aims to contribute to the constitution of microreserves created by the IP, with the objective of providing suitable habitat for butterflies and other species such as passerines and small mammals, which have difficulty finding suitable habitats for refugee and feeding between cultivated areas and “Grey Infrastructures”.
Thus, IP employees made available one day of their weekend, with their families, to contribute to planting trees and shrub species in the MARCA nursery, also a partner of this Project. Also worthy of mention the contribution of the University of Évora, which has previously carried out the management of the land.
The children participated directly in the activities planned or indirectly through didactic actions, always with the perspective of contributing to the protection of nature.
One of the activities consisted in the placement of signs related to the protection of plant and animal species in the area of micro-reserves, which had been created in a previous voluntary action.
Volunteer actions have focused on different moments of the cycle of activities necessary for the recovery of habitats, always with the perspective of the constitution of a Green Infrastructure.
