One week after the installation, on a culvert in the 114 National road, of a camera-trapping system (15-02-2016), it is possible to present the first results. Despite being partially flooded, three middle-size carnivores of our fauna were able to use this structure in order to cross the road. These species were the common genet (Genetta genetta), the european otter (Lutra lutra) and the Egyptian mongoose (Herpestes ichneumon). In the future it will be important understand whether these animals retain the ability to use this structure when it presents higher water level … we can only wait for the next rainfall period!
