On Sunday, December 12, the LIFE LINES project participated in the Second Edition of the event “Amphibians of Loulé”, organized by Associação Almargem – Associação de Defesa do Património Cultural e Ambiental do Algarve. The event took place in the Municipality of Loulé, from December 10th to 12th, and included activities such as night walks, workshops and lectures. The main objective was to raise awareness of the importance of amphibians, an increasingly threatened animal group, and to debate possible conservation strategies for the future. The Amphibians of Loulé Days intended to reach a wide audience: consultancy technicians, NGO’s, municipalities, teachers and, above all, the general public.
The LIFE LINES project participated with the lecture “Why did the frog cross the road? Conservation measures and main results of the LIFE LINES project”. In this lecture, the measures tested in the scope of the project to minimize the impacts of Linear Infrastructures in the amphibians group were presented as well as the results obtained in the evaluation of their effectiveness.
