On October 11th, a Volunteer for Nature action was organized by Infraestruturas de Portugal. Several company employees planted Arbutus trees along a line parallel to the national road EN4, to reinforce a previously planted hedge, also in a volunteer action of the company. This barrier aims to force owls to fly higher, minimizing the risk of collision with vehicles on the road.
At the same time, the plantation of arboreal trees complements the constitution of a micro-reserve that is being created to house butterflies and small mammals, promoting the constitution of a Green Infrastructure.
