On 11-12-2016 we had a pleasant surprise in one of the culverts we are monitoring. We observed 3 otters (Lutra Lutra), in this case the mother accompanied by 2 pretty excited pups. The otter is a solitary and territorial species so when several animals are observed at the same time, it is quite probable to be the mother with the pups. The pups usually accompanied the mother until they are about one year old, by which time they may have almost the same size as an adult animal.
