Within the LIFE LINES Project (LIFE14/NAT/PT/001081) are programmed some actions of following Tawny owls (Strix aluco) to understand the effect of road in the spatial behavior and in the survival of these birds, as well to test the effectiveness of the mitigation measures. On the 16th day of December was conducted the first capture test of Tawny owl that showed to be very efficient: with the capture of one adult from a known territory in the Herdade da Mitra (University of Évora), that was ringed and released back to the wild. The captured individuals near the roads of the LIFE Project will be equipped with a geolocation data storage unit (data-logger), that will permit to collect very precise locations from the individual at a 15 minutes interval.
